Hi! Nicole Fallon Breidel here. Local show attendee, promoter, and wannabe booker- on my adventure and path to make a name for myself! I’m choosing to try this blog thing out. First I started with a tumblr- http://nicolefallonbreidel.tumblr.com/now here I am with Sianet Radio. I want to share my thoughts on local artists here in the great Twin Cities and share my own art, which is writing. I’m debuting this with Raymond Breed. As far as I know, he has been a part of many musicians’ dreams and visions to create their music and now he has started to embark on his own path of sharing his own name, his own brand… BREED.
Sometimes people inspire you in ways that you can’t really express. Raymond Breed, I know that this gentleman is that, a gentleman. You wouldn’t probably label him that given the “rocker” exterior, but maybe this is also what intrigues me. (Also why you should never judge) Things that I also know about this gentleman are how much he cares about not only his own music, but also those creators around him. I find him to be a driving force in my own inspiration. I find that he has a unique manner in how he views the so-called “scene” which I can appreciate in many ways. I think he is one that if he keeps trying really will find a way to a certain “dream” life for a musician. He travels a lot which let’s face it networking is huge nowadays. I believe it shows a lot of dedication to creating and building his name.
Local musicians I think tend to look past at what people think about them, it’s “Rock N’ Roll” so who gives a fuck what people think right? This is very true, yet wrong at the same time. People aren’t going to come to your shows if they don’t like you. Maybe you’re a phenomenal guitarist, beyond exceptional drummer… if you’re an asshole-no one will care about your “talent”.
I appreciate, respect and support a band more if some of these qualities are possessed. Being on time…so simple but so rare. Thanking the audience-is this not the reason you are on stage? A sense of appreciation for being able to share the stage with the other local acts that proceeded and follow said band/artist. A simple thank you to whomever helped put the show together. Sometimes I believe the tiny gestures get lost in this selfish world. So when you do take a second to thank or acknowledge something or someone… the power behind that is memorable. |all these qualities, Raymond excels at|
I get excited about great local acts, I like to share “pimp” you out if you will. So, get out there.. show me what cha got! If you’re a local musician head, supporting the local music… please do catch this guy at a gig. https://www.facebook.com/breedrockmusic?ref=ts&fref=ts you can take a peek at him on the ever popular facebook. If you want to hear the tunes- I recommend live, (so get to a show) but if you message him I heard he will send you links to FREE music.
Enjoy exploration of new sweet notes in your ears.
